July property news

Posted on 14th July, 2015

It’s July, which means the good old British summer is now starting in earnest. And, right on time, we have had our first warnings about heat-waves – how appropriate that, the day before, some think tank or other was predicting a mini ice age for the UK, sometime in the next twenty years. I guess I’ll have to file both of those under the heading ‘Global Warming’. Still, there is nothing we British would rather talk about than the weather- unless it’s our next holiday. And, since it’s July, it won’t be long before the kids will be off school and we’ll all be wending our way to golden beaches in far away lands.

But, while the rest of the world is taking a break, we in the lettings business will still be busy finding homes for people. It’s the time of year when students are looking for those ‘digs’ for the start of the college term and parents are seeking out properties near the right schools.

And don’t forget, this lovely weather is also a great opportunity to freshen-up your rental properties, especially if they’ve got any outside space. A bit of attention to detail can make all the difference in getting the best price and the best tenants.

Anyway, enjoy the sunshine. And, if I don’t hear from you in the mean-time, I will be here again in August.
